Career HighlightsI have been actively working in the Computer Graphics industry for over 14 years. I have worked in companies of all sizes on big budget platform game productions, and have been an educator for the past 10 years. I bring deep knowledge of studio production and a successful record of student success.
My work in education spans Junior College, Undergraduate and Graduate Colleges. I have taught domestic as well as international students, representing a variety of diverse background. I have also collaborated in multiple educational projects with creative media and tech companies with a focus on student career and success. In 2018 I founded my company Bits Bytes & Pixels LLC, where I offer educational programs for students ages 10-18, featuring Visual Communication skills such as Storytelling, Interactivity & Gamification. I offer scholarships for underprivileged students and career building workshops for women partnering with non-profits and schools. A big part of my work in Computer Graphics includes my association with ACM SIGGRAPH International CG conference. I have been honored to serve as a Juror for General Submissions overseeing selection and curation of Papers, Courses, Talks and Panels covering areas within Feature Animation, Video Games, VFX and Education. I have served as a committee member for the prestigious Computer Animation Festival and the VR Theater in 2017, and have worked on curating submissions and organizing events for the Virtual, Augmented and Mixed Reality committee in 2018. I have also served as a Talk Session Chair at SIGGRAPH 2017 for "I Like To Move It Move It" featuring a panel of experts from ILM, Blue Sky Studios, Microsoft Games and Disney Animation on a talk on Animation & VFX. BackgroundAlways a constant learner, I have a somewhat unconventional background for a professional animator. I did my Undergrad in India - Bachelor of Science, Zoology. I started my career in science, working at Pfizer as a Data Analyst in Malaria drug trial. I pursued my Graduate study in Academy of Arts University in San Francisco - Master of Fine Arts, Animation & VFX. In between I learned Computer Programming and traditional Fine Arts. All of this knowledge has been instrumental to my success as an animator and as an educator.
