INDUSTRY COLLABORATIONS

I make it a priority to stay connected with the rapidly evolving CG industry through my initiatives in industry liaison and other efforts such as collaborative projects and speaking opportunities. I instill standard professional values in my teaching such as naming convention and proper workflow in production phase. I believe in iterations. I think its the best way to hone one's skills.
Short-Film Project with Pixar, 2017
I worked on this collaborative project during my tenure at Cogswell College. I created the concept, and worked with Pixar's lead animator Andy Beall to materialize it. I served as a Creative Director and Producer, overseeing all parts of pre and post production including storyboarding, layout, environment, camera, compositing, rendering, texturing, lighting, audio, animation, publication and festival entry. Also supervised collaboration between teams of 4-5 students each, working across discipline. The short film we produced 'Brink" won first prize at the ACR Short Film Contest.

Career Mentorship project, with Google , 2017
This project was conducted in two semesters during my tenure at Cogswell College. I created the concept and worked with a Producer from Google Rachel Miura to bring this to fruition. Together, we conducted Mock-Interviews and mentored graduating seniors on portfolio, resume, job-search, networking and interviewing. At the end of each interview we debriefed the student in details. In addition, I organized industry Talks, Panels and Studio Visits. Helped secure internships and full time employment for 14 students in one school year.
3D Character Project Avatarah, 2014-2017
This project was one of my biggest undertakings during my work at Cogswell College. I created the concept and worked on everything from budget to resource allocation. My co-lead was Segio Sykes, from Insomniac Games. This project had 2 releases: 2015 and 2017. We created 3D characters for Animation in Unity and Unreal. I supervised art direction, modeling, rigging, texturing, lighting, animation, render and Python tools. I managed a team of 6-10 students. Was responsible for team building, talent recruiting, and every aspect of pre and post production including render and publication. Software used: ZBrush, Maya and Houdini.
